A partial solar eclipse was visible across the southern US on April 8, 2005. It was the off-center result of a total/annular (hybrid) eclipse that drew a line across the Pacific and into Central America (totality never touched land, however). In Daytona Beach, maximum eclipse was 36% of the diameter. Mostly cloudy skies prevailed throughout the first half, so unfortunately I was not able to capture a sequence of the whole event.
