The Shuttle Columbia lifts-off 25 minutes before sunrise into a topaz sky over Cape Canaveral, at 6:22am EST on March 1 2002. The mission to repair and upgrade the Hubble Space Telescope was described as the most complex shuttle mission to date and featured five spacewalks and powering down Hubble for the first time since launch.
