What could be the final Delta 2 rocket launch lifts off from SLC-2W at Vandenberg AFB, California (VAFB) with the NPOESS Preparatory Project (NPP; renamed the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership, or Suomi NPP) climate & weather satellite for NASA & NOAA. As of launch time, no further Delta 2 launches are planned, but the possibility exists of up to five more in 2014 or beyond if the remaining hardware is allocated.
