A Lockheed-Martin Atlas 5 rocket launches the ASTRA 1KR television broadcasting satellite for SES ASTRA of Luxembourg. Launch of the Atlas 5 occurred on time and for the first time, the rocket carried just one solid rocket booster, giving the vehicle a unique profile.
