Atlas V launches Starliner Crew Flight Test

6/5/24 ~ 10:52 a.m.

Atlas V launches astronauts for the first time on the inaugural crewed flight of Boeing's Starliner spacecraft. NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams headed for what was supposed to be a short-duration stay onboard the International Space Station. However, they wound up living onboard far longer due to issues with the spacecraft. Starliner returned to Earth uncrewed three months after it was launched. The crew returned in March 2025 after nine-month extended stay.
