DMZ / North Korea Photography
August 2017
It is possible to safely tour the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on the border between North and South Korea. This area is controlled by both
sides and the United Nations and your escort is a member of the U.S. Military. I highly recommend this powerful experience. As part of the tour, you
will visit the Joint Security Area (JSA) with the famous blue buildings where U.N. negotiations have taken place between the two
countries. Inside you are able to step just over the line into North Korean territory. In the first photo below, guards stand watch at the border (the line
seen between gravel and sand) with Panmungak Hall in North Korea in the background. Other photos show the DMZ memorial park and reunification prayer ribbons,
Dorasan Peace Park, and the Bridge of Freedom across the Imjin River
