SLS launches Artemis II crew around the moon

Artemis II launches four astronauts on the the first crewed mission beyond Earth orbit since Apollo 17 in 1972. The crew consists of commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch and mission specialist and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen. It marks the second launch of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, standing 322 feet tall and producing 8.8 million pounds of thrust.
