These small fragments of Space Shuttle tile were removed following the STS-82 Discovery mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope. They may have been used on many missions prior to that but which ones in particular is not known. The larger fragment measures 1.5 inches across. The white lettering is part of what would have been standard serial numbering of the tiles for application on the Orbiter.
