The US space shuttle, an American icon for over 30 years, rolls out to the launch pad for the final time in preparation for STS-135, its last mission. Atlantis departed the Vehicle Assembly Building before some 15,000 employees, media, VIPs, families, guests and the "final four" STS-135 astronaut crew as it was bathed in xenon spotlights.
