For the final time, the 100-ton Shuttle Endeavour is lifted by crane and attached to the External Tank and Solid Rocket Boosters that will take it into space on STS-134. Seemingly dwarfed by the gargantuan 525-foot cube-shaped Vehicle Assembly Building, the fourth largest building on Earth (and record-holder for one floor ground-to-ceiling in the center), the 12-story orbiter and 18-story booster stack are joined in a slow-motion operation that can last 12-24 hours.
