These tomato seeds were launched aboard an unmanned Progress cargo spacecraft from Russia on January 29, 2004 and spent 19 months aboard the International Space Station before being returned to Earth aboard the Shuttle Discovery on August 9, 2004, on the Return to Flight Space Shuttle mission. The seeds are a part of the Canadian Tomatosphere student project.
