Patagonian steppe between Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales
North of Punta Arenas and home to seemingly millions of sheep are the grass steppes of Southern Patagonia. The drive to Torres del Paine National Park crosses about 200 miles before gaining elevation as we approach the mountains and reach Puerto Natales. The non-native emu and guanacos below were penned.
