|OmegA rocket development (2019-20)
Homepage Launch Photos
Northrop Grumman's OmegA was a planned rocket that would have launched from a repurposed Mobile Launch Platform 3 (used in
Apollo and Shuttle programs), with a new service tower, from Pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center. These photos show the development
of the MLP in mid-2020, and ribbon cutting event inside the Vehicle Assembly Building High Bay 4 in August 2019. Also shown are
the solid rocket booster segments for the first SLS launch arriving at Kennedy Space Center in June 2020; the train also
contained two pathfinder (inert) SRB segments (seen on red flatbeds) for Omega.
