Viewing Launches at Cape Canaveral
Homepage                Launch Photos

Page updated July 9

The next launch is STS-125/Shuttle Atlantis on Oct. 8 at 1:34am EDT.

There is nothing on Earth like a rocket launch, and Cape Canaveral is the only place in the world with easily-public-accessible places to view them in person, up close. A launch is something everyone should experience at least once in their life.

If you are traveling to see a launch, or if you will be in the Central Florida area at the time of a launch, you should not miss out on the opportunity. I have met many a person who has been hesitant about wasting his time on a 'regular' rocket launch instead of the space shuttle, and heard them compared to going to the airport to watch planes take off...

..but then, they came to see one. Rocket launches are by no means 'regular.' They never looked back, wanting to come to every launch they could from now on. A rocket launch is an amazing experience, more so at night when it lights up all of Central Florida ...and causes people as far south as Miami to say 'what's that?' as they look 200 miles north.

=================
I have taken the time to write complete, accurate & descriptive launch viewing information 'packets' for viewing on this website and to print to bring with you. I have strived to include every possible viewing option for each type of rocket launched from the Cape and the correct directions to all of them. I have personally verified from experience that those sites named are the best and closest viewing locations, and that the distances given are accurate. Where I could, I have included or linked to photos of launches taken from those areas.

Feel free to
drop me a line with further questions if you have them, or to share your experiences.
