This tiny one-centimeter piece of foam insulation is from the Gemini 2 and Manned Orbiting Laboratory capsule, which was the first spacecraft ever reused and sent into space twice. Gemini 2, launched on Jan. 19, 1965, was the second and last unmanned test flight for NASA's Gemini Program; the capsule was later reused on Nov. 3, 1966 during the only test flight of the Air Force's MOL Program, which would have seen a US military space station. The program was cancelled shortly after the flight.
