Freycinet National Park is Tasmania's jewel, and its main feature is spectacular Wineglass Bay. It takes about 30-60 minutes of uphill hiking to the main viewpoint overlooking the bay, and another 30 or more to go down the other side of the Hazards (the mountain range between the mainland at the bay) to the remote beach, voted one of the world's greatest in some polls. Another strenuous hike can lead you around the untamed wilderness on the peninsular, or to the top of Mount Amos above the viewpoint. Other views show both directions as seen from Cape Tourville (towards bottom, two photos), Coles Bay and the Hazards from Coles Bay. Another shows the long-distance view of Freycinet from the highway headed north, across a vineyard.
