In addition to cloth mission patches, my collection contains these special Apollo patch emblems.
Following the Apollo 1 launch pad fire, NASA decided astronauts would wear non-flammable patches from then on. While all Apollo flights carried cloth patches, those worn by the astronauts were made of a new, fiberglass material known as Beta-Cloth, manufactured by the Owens-Corning company.
I am still collecting the Bete's and have not yet completed the collection. Above is the Apollo 9 patch.
