Ares 1-X, 33 stories tall alone and nearly 40 atop the Mobile Launch Platform and Crawler Transporter become the first new vehicle to emerge from the massive Vehicle Assembly Building since the Shuttle Enterprise in 1979 when it headed out the massive VAB doors, bathed in xenon lights for show, to Launch Pad 39B beginning at 1:39am October 20, 2009.
