Back to Western Roadtrip 2010
PHOTO TIP: Take a photographer's tour, it's worth the extra money. I did this one.
The guides make a forceful effort to make sure you get your shots in this crowded
slot canyon. They also stay an extra hour, albeit after the beams have disappeared,
by which time the canyon is nearly empty. Tripod is an absolute must. All my
photos are at ISO 100 and the canyon is darker than it looks (overexpose to bring out
sunbeams and color). The beams only burst to the floor in summer months for about
an hour in mid-day. Most every tour is timed to see them
The photos on this page have not been altered, not even saturated. It was
recommended to me before my trip to use HDR in the canyon, but I do not think it
is necessary to get great photos here..
